We have two restaurants and entertainment establishments in
Pioneertown: Pappy & Harriet's and the
Pioneerbowl. Old west skits and shootouts
take place on Saturdays and Sundays in front of the Pioneerbowl from early
April until the end of October. Pioneer Posse performs on Saturdays
at 2:30PM and Gunfighters for Hire performs on Sundays at
2:30PM.
We are near some of the best trails for biking,
hiking, and horseback riding in southern California. The California
Hiking and Riding path starts at the Pioneertown Motel driveway. We
are located only ten miles from the Joshua Tree National Park entrance and
next to Pipes Canyon Preserve.
If you're an off road enthusiast there are literally thousands of
great trails close by, one of the least known but most exiting is the back
road to Big Bear. Leave the rat race behind and head out on the trails, a
hot shower, clean towels and a comfortable bed will be waiting when you
get back. Maybe BMX is your sport. Just a few minutes away is one
of the best BMX tracks in southern California, Coyote BMX. Nothing like a
good night's sleep after a hard day's ride!
Perhaps you belong to a club like the Morongo Basin Old
Car Club. Use our facilities for a simple meeting or yearly convention,
spend the days touring local attractions and the nights in peaceful
slumber, there's rooms for all!
The Pipes Canyon Preserve is a fantastic place
for hikers, and horseback riders. It is a 20,000 acre natural wildlife
corridor that connects the Joshua Tree National Park with the San
Bernardino National Forest. The Preserve’s Canyons offer superb wildlife
and natural habitat viewing. It is open from 8:00 am to dusk, seven days a
week. For details, call 760-369-7105.
